Star Trek: Bridge Crew VR delayed again

Remember that Star Trek VR game Ubisoft showed off at E3 last year? The one where you and your friends call out commands to each other as you pilot the U. S. S. Enterprise in full VR? The one that got delayed out of 2016 to March, 2017? Well, you’ll have to wait a little longer to get strapped into the Star Trek universe, as the game has been delayed again, this time to May 30, 2017.

Ubisoft announced the delay today in a press release, also announcing that the U. S. S. Enterprise bridge will be playable in the VR exclusive game.  The game can be played with up to four players (each donning a VR headset) assuming different roles for piloting either the U. S. S. Aegis or the famous U. S. S. Enterprise. Solo play is also supported (wherein the player assumes the role of the Captain), though the game has mainly been showcased as a cooperative VR experience.

Bridge Crew was first revealed last year at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference by none other than Star Trek: The Next Generation star Levar Burton. Burton gave an emphatic endorsement of the game, expressing how it was “what [he] would have wanted” from a Star Trek VR experience.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew will be available on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive this May.
