Online play will be free for all PS4 owners this weekend

Sony is opening up online play to all PlayStation 4 players regardless of their PlayStation Plus subscription status this weekend.

Starting Friday, February 19th, all PS4 owners will have access to online modes of all games from 12:01am PT up until February 21st at 11:59pm PT. This free online weekend correlates with the launch of both Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s “Awakening” DLC, as well as Street Fighter V.

PlayStation Plus became a requirement to play online when the PlayStation 4 launched, but online play still remains free on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
